Above are just some things that I think might help get you feeling better. By no means do I believe some phone numbers or a nice quote can automatically make someone feel better. Sometimes it takes a bit more than that , and I know that. If you’re on this page, you’re either very curious, or you actually need some cheering up after a not-so-great day…or maybe both. Either way, I understand. I really do. Maybe I have never been in the exact same situation as you are in right at this very moment, but I’m sure I can understand your feelings. I’ve felt a wide range of emotions — some that I can’t even explain in words because they’re so complex and mixed with a billion thoughts. And even if you doubt I have felt what you’re feeling right now, then I can guarantee you that someone else in this world has. The fact is, is that you are not alone. In any of this. That I can honestly promise. It sounds crazy, but there’s a crap load of people in this world and there’s bound to be one person out of 6 billion individuals that has felt what you are feeling right now. I’m no expert in psychology or those really helpful statistics that tell you “78% of students don’t feel safe on campus”, but I know what it feels like to feel low. Sometimes you feel so low that you honestly wonder why you’re even here. Why everything happens this way, and why it has to be you. I’ve had thousands of “why’s” plague my mind countless times, and it sucks, it really does. But you just have to try and counter those questions with answers — things you know. You know the color of your eyes. The color of your hair. The kind of clothes you like to wear. Your quirks. Your flaws. Your gifts. Your fingernails. Your smile. These are all puzzle pieces that make up you. You want to know what I know? I know that there are people who love you. I know things can get hard, but it really does get better with time and courage. I know that there is always hope, even when it doesn’t seem like it. I know you are special. I know you have the courage and strength to make it through whatever is eating at you. You know how I know this? Because you were brought in this world for a reason; a purpose. You are the only you in this entire world, and you know what? It’s probably a hell of a lot more fun with you in it. I really hope you realize this sometime in your life, because everything I’ve said in this note to you is true. I don’t have to know you personally to see it’s true, because you know everything I just said is true.
And while you’re at it, have a Tom Hiddleston smile.

I hope your day gets better. Tomorrow is a new day, so roll up your sleeves and get ready to mold that bad day into a good one with that brilliant smile of yours. You can do it!
Sincerely,
Jade Pope
